Jazz legend Junnu Aaltonen and his quartet The Father, The Sons & The Junnu entertains with top Nordic, cross-generation jazz with wild and free expression. A Baltic Sea themed discussion (in Finnish) during the break at 7 pm brings current expert guests – MEP Ville Niinistö, fisher Saija Toivonen, food visionary Sami Tallberg and writer Jukka Ahonen – together to talk about fishery and sea-friendly food. The discussion is led by the John Nurminen Foundation’s communications director Elina Lehtinen.

The Father, The Sons & The Junnu is an exceptional ensemble. Each of the quartet’s musicians have a long history in jazz music. They represent three generations and three Nordic countries. In their playing one can hear past jazz decades as well as wild and free expression. The holy trinity of The Father, The Sons & The Junnu culminates to old stager Junnu Aaltonen who is considered one of the most legendary jazz musicians in North Europe. Quartet’s debut album, released in 2020, has been praised in jazz media from The New York City Jazz Records all the way to a Japanese Jazz Critique Magazine.
