Turku Sea Jazz kicks off with a free event on Wednesday in the stunning setting of the Cathedral Park along the Aura River. Taking the stage on the Cathedral Park Terrace at 6 PM is the duo Josu Mämmi and Ukko Heinonen, presenting music that subtly blends ambient and jazz from their recently released album, Blanc Lines. Guided by a free flow from the subconscious and an experimental, open-minded attitude towards music and sound, the duo’s performance promises a unique experience.

During the intermission at 7 PM, there will be a Baltic Sea-themed panel discussion featuring current expert guests discussing well-being and the state of the Baltic Sea, led by the John Nurminen Foundation. The opening night concludes at 8 PM with a performance by the Turku quartet Puños.
