Turku Sea Jazz’s Friday afternoon is spent in the company of the Adele Sauros Quartet in the champagne bar of the museum ship Suomen Joutsen!

Saxophonist and composer Adele Sauros is among the most internationally active figures in Finnish jazz. She is known for her strong melodic voice and her ability to combine Nordic lyricism with the energy and edge of American jazz. Sauros has performed widely across Europe at festivals and clubs, and received the Emma Award (Finnish Grammy) for Best Jazz Album of 2021 with her band Superposition.

Sauros has led her own quartet since 2012. The group’s music is built on strong compositions, subtle dynamics, and intense interplay. Their expression moves between spaciousness and energy, shaped in the moment through the musicians’ interaction.

The concert, experienced on the ’tween deck of Suomen Joutsen, offers a unique setting for the Adele Sauros Quartet – where a historic sailing ship meets modern jazz in an atmosphere of timeless presence.
