Emilia Sisco and Punomo bring soulful summer nights to Turku Sea Jazz festival!
2.5.2025
Turku Sea Jazz once again delights rhythm music lovers at the turn of July and August. The festival’s main concerts will take place in the atmospheric Boat Shelter at Forum Marinum. The first confirmed acts are rising soul star Emilia Sisco and the infectious local group Punomo! Tickets are now available at Tiketti.
Celebrating its fifth edition, the maritime city festival Turku Sea Jazz takes place from July 30 to August 2, 2025, with events at Cathedral Park Terrace, the island of Seili, and Maritime Center Forum Marinum. The main concerts will be held on Friday and Saturday in the Boat Shelter next to the historic Kruununmakasiini building – a venue that charmed audiences already last summer. Soul fans are in for a treat as two strong and charismatic performers, Emilia Sisco and Punomo, take the stage in a unique riverside setting.
On Friday, August 1 at 9 PM, the eight-piece band Punomo takes the stage. Their distinctive vintage sound blends the traditions of funk and soul with Finnish lyrics in a remarkably natural and heartfelt way. Known for their positive energy and tight live performance, Punomo captivates audiences across generations and genres. Their second album Kahdeksan kertaa, released in February, has been praised for its timeless and personal musical expression.
On Saturday, August 2 at 7 PM, the evening begins with a performance by Emilia Sisco, a rising singer-songwriter gaining international recognition. Her powerful voice and storytelling artistry seamlessly combine soul, jazz, and blues. Her debut album Introducing Emilia Sisco has positioned her among the most promising voices of the new soul generation, and her performances promise deep emotion and grooving rhythms.
Each night at Forum Marinum’s Boat Shelter will feature two top-tier acts – the full festival lineup will be announced by the end of May.
The festival kicks off with a free opening event on Wednesday, July 30 at Cathedral Park Terrace, featuring the fresh new jazz talent Siina Suutarinen. The evening will also include the discussion event (in Finnish) “Jazz lives and is inspired by the sea”, presented by the John Nurminen Foundation.
Tickets are available now at Tiketti.fi. When purchasing tickets, you can also support the John Nurminen Foundation’s important work for the Baltic Sea.
