Punomo

Punomo is an eight-piece soul band whose distinctive vintage sound seamlessly and powerfully blends the deep-rooted aesthetics of soul and funk with Finnish-language lyrics. The combination feels refreshingly new – as if the band had arrived by time machine from an unknown corner of Finnish soul history into the present day.

Punomo’s musical world radiates timelessness, the healing power of music, and a sense of hope. On stage, their vibrant and playful energy has delighted audiences of all ages, transcending genre boundaries.

The creative force behind Punomo’s music is drummer Lauri Levanto and vocalist Johanna Rauma. The band’s 2022 debut album Punomo received praise and glowing reviews both in Finland and abroad. Its highly anticipated follow-up, Kahdeksan kertaa, was released in February 2025.
